Ben Howlett mentioned how concerned he was about child poverty in Bath in his maiden speech and has been instrumental in the establishment of the new Action Against Child Poverty Campaign in Bath. Ben’s vision was for organisations in Bath to work in partnership to try to reduce child poverty in Bath.
Working in conjunction with St John’s Hospital and B&NES Council Ben has championed this project. Prior to Christmas Ben attended an afternoon workshop at the Guildhall, with key groups involved in this vital work already in Bath, to launch the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign (AACPC).
Child poverty in Bath is far too high and the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign is a great example of the community working together to tackle this important issue. Ben very much hopes the people of Bath will help the AACPC to raise vital funds to enable projects to commence across B&NES and will dig deep for the Chronicle campaign. Every little helps – Ben has donated half of his pay rise to the campaign in 2016.
Progress on the campaign will be kept updated here.
