As part of his campaign to Stop Bath Stalling, Ben is campaiging for the construction of an A36/46 Link Road.
Cars and heavy polluting HGVs keep using Bath as a roundabout and a link road would help take these out of the city and improve Bath's air quality and reduce congestion.
Ben has been working on this alongside the Council and neighbouring MP, Jacob Rees-Mogg. He has writtent to the Chancellor and received this positive response.
He has also raised the link road at Prime Minister's Questions and the Prime Minister promised to look at the proposals. The Prime Minister also followed up Ben's question with this supportive letter.
The petition for the link road is available to download and print below, and can be sent via freepost to the address provided.
Ben Howlett:
“I am delighted that the West of England Devolution Deal has been signed by all three Councils involved, including Bath and North East Somerset. The Devolution settlement will ensure that Bath receives vital funding towards key infrastructure projects. This includes £100M of transport funding over the next 5 years, which should expedite the speed at which options for the A36/46 link road can be assessed and hopefully ensure that the feasibility of this vital link road is assessed more rapidly and enable strategies to be advanced to alleviate some of Bath’s transport woes.”
