Ben Howlett, the Conservative candidate in the upcoming general election has this week met with the Headteacher and Chair of the Governors at St Michaels Church of England School to discuss the challenges and likely closure of The Lodge at the school which specialises in education for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties.
Ben said of the meeting
“I recognise that funding is constrained, but I very much hope that Bath and North East Somerset Council will be able to allocate sufficient funds to ensure that any pupils impacted by this closure are able to receive the support they need in other local schools.
If re-elected, I will also work to see what steps can be taken to ensure that funds from developers building new homes in Bath and North East Somerset can be allocated to children with special educational needs to ensure every child in Bath can fulfil their potential.
It is projects such as this where a Conservative MP working with a Conservative government and Council can really make a difference and make real progress in implementing positive change for our city.”
