Stop Bath Stalling

Stopping Bath Stalling - improving Bath's transport network to reduce congestion and increase air quality.

Ben has been working hard to improve the local road network including working for a new junction on the M4 and, of course, lobbying for a badly-needed A36/46 link road.

Reducing the number of vehicles in the city is also important, and this is why Ben has supported a Park and Ride to the East of Bath and debated proposals for a Low Emission Zone for Bath in Parliament. He also supported more efficient technology such as electric vehicles and LPG.

There has also been progress with local rail services and with sustainable transport options such as cycling.

The 2015 Bath and North East Somerset Conservatives' Transport Manifesto was endorsed by the Transport Secretary and you can read it here.

Ben has been working alongside the RUH and the Council to improve parking provision at the Hospital and help reduce parking pressures in Newbridge and Weston. He was delighted to welcome the additional 350 spaces at the RUH and is pursuing options of a new 'hopper' service from the Park and Ride and additional parking solutions on the RUH site.

Many transport issues in Bath are the responsibility of the Council, and you can find what steps they are taking to addressing here in these Frequently Asked Questions.

A consultation was recently launched to find local opinion on bus operations. You can find the results of that consultation below.
